Can you use AI-generated video commercially? A practical checklist

What to check before publishing AI video in ads, client work or a product: ownership, permission, content rules and disclosure.

By Qiroq team · Published

Most creators ask the same question before they publish: can I use this commercially? The honest answer is that it depends on the platform's terms, what the video depicts and where you publish. This checklist covers the points to confirm. It is general information, not legal advice.

Start with the platform's terms. On Qiroq you own the videos you generate and may use them commercially, subject to our terms of service and content policy. Read both before you build a campaign around a clip.

Look at what is in the video. Do not depict real, identifiable people without their permission, and avoid copyrighted characters, logos and brand marks in prompts. If a clip includes something you would need a licence to film, you would need a licence to publish the generated version too.

Respect the content rules. Prompts that conflict with the content policy are blocked, and blocked prompts do not spend credits. Keep your use inside what is allowed, particularly in advertising.

Consider disclosure. Some platforms and many advertising rules ask you to label AI-generated or synthetic media. A short note such as 'created with AI' is an easy habit and builds trust with your audience.

Keep records. Save the prompt, the date and the generation for each clip you publish commercially. If a client or platform ever asks where a visual came from, you can show it.

When in doubt on a high-stakes project, ask a qualified lawyer in your market. Rules on synthetic media are changing, and a short review is cheap compared with taking a campaign down.
